Pharmaceutical Expenses

Subject to Article VII.8.g of the Internal Rules any product not reimbursable or not categorized as a valid pharmaceutical product according to the criteria of the competent health authorities of the country concerned is NOT reimbursed.

Homeopathic and Phytotherapeutic products are reimbursed at 80% up to a maximum ceiling of CHF 1,500 per annum. 

Pharmaceutical products, as defined according to the criteria of the competent health authorities of the country concerned, are reimbursed at 80% as are Vaccinations recommended by a Doctor's Prescription. The supplementary plan does not apply.

Expensive medicine, defined as medicine that costs at least CHF 500 per month for a consecutive duration of at least 3 months, may be reimbursed with application of the supplementary plan. The the insured member must first obtain prior authorization form the medical adviser. Failure to submit a request for authorization in advance will result in the reimbursement at 80% without the application of the supplementary plan.

Parapharmaceutical products may be reimbursable only on recommendation of Medical Adviser following an accident. The decision is at the discretion of the medical adviser and the supplementary plan does not apply.

The purchase of medication over the internet is only reimbursed if bought over an internet site of the country of residence or of work of the member. Cross-border internet purchases of are not reimbursable.

 

Medical Imagery, Laboratory Analysis and Tests

The medical expenses in this case are reimbursed at 80% with application of the Supplementary Plan. Prior Authorization is NOT needed.
